December 2024 - Dolls House
At our recent Christmas Fayre, a member of the East Kilbride community bought this doll's house from us, but then asked us to find a suitable home for it. We got in touch with South Lanarkshire Council to see if they could help.
We are delighted to say that the Social Work department gave the house to a very worthy family, with 2 daughters, and assured us that the house would be very well looked after.

November 2024 - Christmas Fayre
A hugely successful Christmas Fayre was held in the Shed on Saturday 30th November, attracting many people from the local community who came out to support us. A huge thanks from all the members of the East Kilbride Mens Shed to all those people that bought Christmas craft items, which helps to keep the Shed open.

November 2024 - K-Woodlands Borrow Boxes
The Shedders recently competed the construction of three borrow boxes for K-Woodlands. The boxes are design to be outside in the woodlands and allow people to borrow books or toys whilst visiting the park.
November 2024 - Caricature
Our highly experienced Caricature artist was commissioned to provide a surprise present. Working from just a photograph, our artist was able to capture the essence of the character, whilst adding one or two comic elemets. See if you can spot them.

October 2024 - Christmas Fayre preparations
Several Shedders attended an extended hours opening session to prepare more craft items for our up and coming Christmas Fayre on Saturday 30th November, 11am to 3pm. We will have numerous items for sale that will allow you to decorate your home and garden this festive season.
September 2024 - Christmas Fayre preparations
The Craft Shop is being prepared and stocked with craft items for our forthcoming Christmas Fayre on Saturday 30th November, 2024. Hope to see you all there. where you can bag a Christamas Craft bargain.
August 2024 - Hairmyres Hospital, Twiddle Board
The Shed were pleased to hand over a Twiddle Board that we had constructed for Hairmyres Hospital to aid patients in their cognative recovery.
August 2024 - Open Day
We were delighted that Councillor Miller offically opened our renovated Craft Shop and Open day on Saturday 3rd August. Many thanks to everyone that attended, making it an enjoyable and successful day.

July 2024 - Craft Shop

May 2024 - Dumfries Air Museum Outing
18 members of the Shed enjoyed a great day out at the Dumfries Air Museum. Many thanks to the museum for an enjoyable day and for taking the time to give the lads a guided tour of the many exhibits on display. A highly recommended day out for anyone interested in aviation history.
May 2024 - Shop Renovations
It has been a busy time for some of the members in the Shed this month. We have decided to give our Shop a makeover by moving the store cupboard door, freshening up the paintwork, installing new shelving and adding design features to the walls and counter. We will be launching the revamped Shop at a special open day in July: watch this space for further details.
April 2024 - Wheelbarrow Restoration
In 1946, a young apprentice, John Wilson, was tasked with making a wheelbarrow. As you can see from the orignal picture (top left), it was well used over the years. However, after many years, the wheelbarrow fell in to, being polite, disrepair (bottom left). John's daughter, Lesley, contacted the Shed to see if there was anythig we could do. After many hours of pondering and figuring out the original sizes, chairman Ed completed the rebuild and presented the wheelbarrow back to a delighted Lesley.
March 2024 - West Kirk Brownies
The Shed were delighted to be asked to assist the West Kirk Brownies in a Mother’s Day project. Following a short demonstration and explantion about hand tools, the brownies were given the task of hammering nails into a block of wood to make a heart shape. The task was completed by the end of the night and much fun was had by all.
January 2024 - Chairman Ed
Many members of the East Kilbride Shed gather to celebrate the 70th birthday of our Chairman, Ed Mullin.
